Undergraduate Programs with Environmental Sustainability Curriculi
Listed below are five schools and colleges that provide Bachelor's programs related to environmental sustainability. Please keep in mind that this list does not include other schools and colleges that may offer special courses or academic programming related to environmental sustainability (even though it may not be considered their core area of study).
- Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning (TCAUP): This college offers a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, through which students can study green building principles and other sustainability topics associated with the built environment.
- Michigan College of Engineering (CoE): This school offers 15 Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E) Degree Programs, as well interdisciplinary and combined-degree options. These include a BSE in Earth System Science and other programs that incorporate studies in the natural sciences.
- Literature, Arts, & the Science (LSA): As the largest undergraduate school at the University of Michigan, LSA offers a wide range of programs about environmental-sustainability subject matter. These include:
- The Program in the Environment (PitE)—a joint program with SNRE—incorporates studies in plant ecology, environmental economics, globalization and environmental justice, and environmental policy.
- The Ecology and Evolutionary (EEB) Department offers several Bachelor's concentrations in the life sciences. Areas of study include population biology, community and ecosystem biology, systematics, and behavior.
- The Department of Geology offers several different Bachelor's degrees related to physical science. Areas of study include earth science, atmospheric science, biogeochemistry, marine geology, marine biology, and others.

- Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy: This school began offering a Public Policy Bachelor's degree in 2007. This liberal arts program emphasizes multidisciplinary training in the social sciences with extensive focus on around understanding the both domestic and international public-policy procesess.
