GESI Director, Richard Jackson, receives New Partners for Smart Growth Lifetime Achievement Award

ANN ARBOR, Mich., February 6, 2008--

Jackson will be presented the New Partners for Smart Growth Lifetime Achievement Award at the 7th Annual Building Safe, Healthy, and Livable Communities Conference in Washington D.C. on February 7, 2008.

The New Partners for Smart Growth conference is considered the "premier" smart growth conference held each year. This conference attracts participants and speakers from across disciplines that work to encourage smart growth implementation.

The smart growth conference began in 1997 from a joint sponsorship between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Urban Land Institute. Various conferences throughout the U.S. have been hugely successful in sharing ideas about livable communities and smart design.
