October 19, 2009
The student-run, pre-seed investment fund called the "Frankel Commercialization Fund" at U-M's Ross School of Business is accepting applications from those with breakthrough ideas in technology, clean technology, healthcare, and consumer products.
"We hope to increase the number of successful commercial ventures out of the university and local area," says second-year MBA student Mark Leo "and to accelerate their commercialization."
Ideas selected for funding typically receive between $50,000 to $80,000 in investment, as well as valuable academic, entrepreneurial, and logistical support. The Frankel Fund will be reviewing applications in two rounds this year. Deadlines for each round are as follows:
- Round One: November 1, 2009
- Round Two: January 17, 2010
