Esther is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Justice and Geospatial Data Sciences through the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and minor in Justice, Community, and Leadership. Her background ranges from studying the trends of air pollution during her lifetime to leading a youth job training program at a nonprofit farm in California. Her research focuses on the intersectionalities between climate change, food security, and culture in the context of sourdough bread. Outside of work, you can find her exploring recipes in the kitchen or wandering around with a DSLR camera.
